Natalie Clein OBE (born Poole, Dorset) is a British classical cellist. Her mother is a professional violinist. [1] Her sister is the actress Louisa Clein . Early life and education [ edit] Clein started playing the cello at the age of six, [1] and attended Talbot Heath School in Bournemouth, Dorset. [2]

Artist Profile: Cellist Natalie Clein Published by StringOvation Team on February 06, 2018 In 1987, Natalie Clein made her first public performance at 10 years of age, in a church hall in the English county of Dorset, where she was born. She'd been playing the cello for four years by then, influenced by her mother who was a professional violinist.

As a student she was awarded the Queen Elizabeth the Queen Mother Scholarship by the Royal College of Music. She completed her studies with Heinrich Schiff in Vienna. Natalie is a Professor at the Royal College of Music London. She plays the 'Simpson' Guadagnini cello of 1777.
