Long black plate RCA 12AX7, with an angled "D" getter. These are great tubes, and if you have a vintage Fender amp or a clone like a Victoria or even a Mojotone kit, this is a must. These came stock in the late 50's, early 60's Fender amps. This tube has been tested on a Hickok 800, and it read 1075 on triode one, and 1000 on triode two.

At the risk of being contrary, the tubes in the OP's photo do appear to be black plate 6L6GC's. The plates of the 60's era RCA 6L6GC's often appear more of a charcoal color, relative to the "shiny" black plates produced by others. Took a picture of some RCA 6L6GC black/charcoal plate tubes I have here to show the "illusion"/difference.

The RCA black long plate tubes were not bad just not in the same league. I only wish that I had another Brimar to compare with the other tubes. Brimer are good tubes also. The Amperex Holland Bugle Boy wins my vote for The best sounding 12AX7 tube. Also do consider the early Mullard long box plate tubes and the smooth plate Telefunken tubes.
